Jeff Hall Annual Memorial Award
The Jeff Hall Annual Memorial Award will honor the personal and investigative achievements of Principal Jeff Hall of Transit Risk Management by awarding the efforts and results of an up-and-coming private sector investigator in cargo and supply chain disruption investigations. The ultimate goal is to further that recipient’s abilities and skill set through membership grants and continued education.
Sponsored by TAPA AMERICAS, PCSC, SWTSC, and the MCSC, the award will be presented to an investigator chosen from nominees presented by the Chairs of each sponsoring entity.
Each organization will equally sponsor the award, the continuing education benefit presented, and a winner’s plaque. Award winners will receive fully paid individual memberships to TAPA, PCSC, SWTSC, and MCSC for 1 year, to further the networking and education of the award recipient. Additionally, the winner will receive a one-time, fully paid suite of Hetherington Group Open Source Investigation webinars from their online training program.
As stated, the award winner will also be presented with a plaque for their efforts and recognized with the names of all previous award winners. The four sitting chairs of each sponsoring organization will present the plaque at the Annual TAPA National Cargo Theft Summit.
Guidelines:
- Each sponsoring organization may consider an unlimited number of nominees from its members.
- Each nomination must include a recent case example that the investigator has successfully conducted.
- The sitting chairs of each organization will then choose one nominee that will be forwarded for final review by the collective governing board by March 30th of that year. (The 2025 award deadline is October 1, 2025.)
- Of the four final nominees, a winner will be chosen by simple majority vote by April 15th of that year. Absent a simple majority, the TAPA Board of Directors will decide in a tie. (The 2025 vote will be October 15, 2025)
- The chosen winner’s name and company will be submitted to TAPA to be added to the award plaque, which will be presented to the recipient at the Annual National Cargo Theft Summit in May. (The 2025 award recipient will be presented at the TAPA Annual Conference, December 9, 2025.)
